Car history:
From the owner via email: "I purchased the car one month before my sixteenth birthday Oct 1961. The car was in very bad condition at the time I purchased it. It had body damage on every body panel except the convertible top cover. The engine was knocking and the transmission was sliping. At the age of Sixteen I along with another sixteen year old repaired all the body panels and repainted the car. I entered the car in the Omaha Autorama and took second place in a class of 17 cars. I drove the car to school every day and even drove it to my senior prom. After high school I went to college for one year and then joined the Army. After the Army I decided to take up Autobody for a liveing. I redone the car in 1969 and showed it extensively on the ISCA circuit. I have always been some what of a custom car nut so I painted the car black and installed a black custom interior. The drive train is still the correct 6 cyl and the numbers are correct. The car did very well in it's show days including winning best paint againest the the top points car in the nation at that time. One problem, when you put as much lacquer paint on a car as I did back then it dosen't last forever. The car still looks good except for the cracked paint. I should strip the car and paint it white, but white has never been my favorite color. Any way I still have the car and still take it out on occasions. It's been a good ride and I have enjoyed it. Current mileage - 61,000 miles"
